6/18 Update

Friends and Family,
Well, it's been 4 weeks today that Dave fell off the roof. It seems that when tragedy hits there are highs and there are also lows. I don't know how people get through times like this without having a relationship with the Lord, it's been the only thing that has got us this far.

Dave and Ginnie just continue to trust God each and every day. Yesterday was a tough day. Dave currently has a urinary tract infection and it seems to just make everything more difficult. It makes therapy more difficult because Dave is tired. Please lift Dave up today in prayer, we are praying fervently for Dave's strength and energy levels to increase. When he is tired it makes for a tough time because he can't take a day off. When you or I are having a bad day we can slow down and even take a day off, Dave has to push through because he cannot skip therapy. God's word promises that when we are weak, HE IS STRONG. This is our prayer.

I was praying for Dave this morning and God reminded me of when Moses was leading his people in battle against the Amalekites and as long as Moses held his staff up high in the air they would win the battle. When Moses would get tired and let his arms fall they would start losing the battle. This is what happens when we are in a hard fought battle, we get tired. What happened next is what I believe we must do for Dave. Aaron and Hur saw that Moses was getting tired so they came alongside Moses and HELD HIS ARMS UP FOR HIM. Moses was too tired to win the battle alone. Sound familiar? It is time that all of us that love Dave come alongside and hold him up, lift him up, and be strong when he is weak. This is a very tough battle that Dave is fighting and he is tired.

We must PRAY. We must ENCOURAGE. We must LOVE.

This is what's it's all about when we are all part of God's family, taking care of each other. We ask that everyone continue to PRAY, PRAY, PRAY, AND ENCOURAGE, ENCOURAGE, ENCOURAGE.

Thank you so much for everything that everyone is doing. Dave and Ginnie appreciate everything more than words can express.

(Please also lift up Ginnie. She hasn't left Dave's side since the accident. She has only slept in a bed one time since the accident. I bring this up just so everyone can join together as one voice and lift up Dave and Ginnie for strength.)

Thank you so much.

  2. Well, Dave and Ginnie....just know that SOOO many of your friends are keeping you lifted up in prayer and asking God to give you the strength, not JUST the physical strength that you need, but the SUPERNATURAL strength that can only come from God, to continue on with this journey you are on. I wish I could come do your PT for you and that it would be like those that came to hold up Moses' arms when he was so weak....but I can lift you by keeping you in my prayers. I'll be back soon and will come see you either in Lubbock if you're still there or by your house in Clovis. Hang in there......and know you are very loved. Ginnie...you're a wonderful wife...Dave is very, very blessed to call you his wife.

    Love,
    Diane

  5. It was such a blessing to spend these last two days with both of you. Seeing the progress in PT Dave made on Tuesday and Wednesday was awesome. Ginnie, I enjoyed those hours we got to spend together in Lubbock. You are in our prayers many times a day. We love you, Pam & Brent
