6/10 Update

Hello Friends and Family!!

Wow, how time flies. Every single day brings with it things to celebrate and also things that are challenges. I don't know how people go through tragedies without a loving and trusting relationship with the Lord. Tragedies don't become easy just because we have a relationship with the Lord but just having that "knowing" that He is right there with us and will never leave us is comfort enough to get through the day.

Dave and Ginnie are continuing to believe God for restoration in Dave's body. One woman that prayed for Dave yesterday prayed that "all nerves will fuse back together". Amen! God created those nerves and He can make them fuse back together, one touch from our God can change any situation no matter how severe.

Therapy is getting tougher and tougher. (good thing Dave is an above average "tough guy") Since we're being told that Dave only has 2-3 more weeks at TrustPoint they are really picking up the intensity of the therapy/rehab process. Some days Dave is very sore, other days he may be just drained of energy. Please pray for energy and the determination to get through these challenging and rigorous therapy sessions.

The Godwins came by again and spent some time encouraging and praying with Dave and Ginnie. They are truly a blessing. There are also consistent visitors from Clovis...you guys are so encouraging!! This reminds me of some scriptures that Trace (Dave and Ginnie's middle son) had sent to me a few days ago, very powerful. It's a little long but well worth the time, I promise.

2 Cor 1:3-12 (The Message)
All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel!4 He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.5 We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.6 When we suffer for Jesus, it works out for your healing and salvation. If we are treated well, given a helping hand and encouraging word, that also works to your benefit, spurring you on, face forward, unflinching. Your hard times are also our hard times.7 When we see that you’re just as willing to endure the hard times as to enjoy the good times, we know you’re going to make it, no doubt about it.8 We don’t want you in the dark, friends, about how hard it was when all this came down on us in Asia province. It was so bad we didn’t think we were going to make it.9 We felt like we’d been sent to death row, that it was all over for us. As it turned out, it was the best thing that could have happened. Instead of trusting in our own strength or wits to get out of it, we were forced to trust God totally—not a bad idea since he’s the God who raises the dead!10 And he did it, rescued us from certain doom. And he’ll do it again, rescuing us as many times as we need rescuing.11 You and your prayers are part of the rescue operation—I don’t want you in the dark about that either. I can see your faces even now, lifted in praise for God’s deliverance of us, a rescue in which your prayers played such a crucial part.12 Now that the worst is over, we’re pleased we can report that we’ve come out of this with conscience and faith intact, and can face the world—and even more importantly, face you with our heads held high. But it wasn’t by any fancy footwork on our part. It was God who kept us focused on him, uncompromised.

This is such an encouraging picture of how God uses us and others to help each other as we go through hard times. It's just like when anyone walks into Dave's room he is smiling and encouraging...every time. He is the one in that "hard time" but he's also the one that is giving joy out left and right because he knows that God is using him in whatever situation he is in. I leave the hospital encouraged and built up every time because Dave is allowing God to work through him even in a very hard time.

Please also pray for Dave and a catheter situation. There was a small issue with his catheter a day or two ago and we need to pray that God will heal his body and heal any and all infection. We have seen God move powerfully in Dave's body so many times already....he and Ginnie thank everyone for their continued prayers and encouragement.

It's so important that we don't lose our passion to pray and trust God for TOTAL restoration and healing in Dave.

Thank you to everyone!!! And KEEP PRAYING!!!!
